A woman-led Kenyan SME, BDELO is a leading manufacturer of natural and organic tortilla chips enhanced with new superfoods like chia and moringa. Bdelo wants to penetrate the Gulf markets and needs to ensure volumes and good quality of maize and potato from the Rift Valley region in Kenya. Golden Valley Livestock Cooperative - Climate Smart Agro-Pastoralism in Turkana County (ASAL)

GVC is based in the Suguta Valley and has 1600 member pastoralists from the Turkana, Pokot, and Samburu communities. This is a unique association of previously rival communities coming to peace to address poverty and the 4-year drought affecting the region.

GVC members’ mission is to invest in agribusiness for socio-economic empowerment and prosperity of the community. ADAPTA supports a climate smart agro-pastoralism strategy, grow resilient grass varieties, improve degraded soils, harvest water, and governance training.

PigShed Limited - Climate Smart Livestock Practices in Kajiado County

Rachel and Eric are two young bankers that decided to jump into the pig business three years ago with seven pigs.  Today, PigShed has reached 800 pigs and looking to expand to 2,000 by 2023.  PigShed uses the best fees mixes in the market and focuses on genetics and animal health.

ADAPTA is supporting PigShed to build a third shed while greening its infrastructure, expanding its herd while improving water management, and setting up a bio-digester to produce methane for heating and cooking.
